Avengers: Infinity War screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely are the latest to defend Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), whose outburst on Titan that stirred Thanos (Josh Brolin) and prevented the Avengers from claiming the Infinity Gauntlet was “not out of character.”
We knew Thanos was going to walk out of there with the [Time Stone], so we were not going to write a victorious battle
 Many MCU fans laid blame on Star-Lord for Thanos being able to defeat all the superheroes and snap half the universe to mere dust. But, writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely are defending Peter's actions in Infinity War stating that he was "not out of character," according to their interview with Backstory Magazine. Christopher stated that Thanos was going to take the Time Stone and hence, a victorious battle was never in question. Stephen shared, "We made sure they don’t lose their personality in doing that.
